Parcem is a small village situated near the Chapora River in the Pernem taluka in North Goa. Here one can see a lot of wild boars in the wooded hills and also a range of aquatic species can be seen in the waterlogged wetland.
Agriculture is the main occupation among the people of Parcem and the area also has a lot of people who are masons. The villagers here live in communal harmony and are known as the Parsekars.
A main attraction in Parcem is the Shree Bhagavati temple complex that has five temples. The other temples include Shri Dev Bhivangi Panchakshari, Shree Sateri, Brahma and Shree Dev Ravalnath. The Devi Bhagavati temple also has two unique Deepstambhas. At the end of November or beginning of December the temple celebrates zatra. Dassehra is also another main festival celebrated here.
Parcem also has a church the feast of which is celebrated on 16th May. The village is also known for the Indian classical musical festival it holds in the Bhagwati temple premises in memory of a famous violinist that is attended by a lot of people from all over.
