The International Centre, Goa (ICG) is a non-profit society founded in June 1987 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The ICG was inaugurated by His Excellency the late Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then President of India on 18 June 1996. The ICG is an autonomous institution. It organises programmes and projects of local, national and global significance independently as well as in collaboration with local, national and international institutions.
The ICG also maintains residential facilities for scholars, intellectuals, researchers and trainees, and is mandated to establish and maintain funds from government and non-government agencies. Local, national and international organizations also organise their residential and non-residential conferences, seminars and training programmes at the ICG. These activities are complemented by private social and business functions.
Its current operational costs are met by revenues generated from the services it renders. However, to fund its programmes, it relies on grants and donations from local and international institutions as well as individuals.
